mrgrieves wrote:Hi,

I just installed autoten on my fedora 12 x86_64 box.

everything seems to be ok but I just installed Realplayer via autoten but when I try to start the program I get the following:

[user@bigblackbox ~]$ realplay
/opt/real/RealPlayer/realplay.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[user@bigblackbox ~]$
[user@bigblackbox ~]$ ls -al /usr/lib | grep gdk
[user@bigblackbox ~]$

Is autoten missing a pre-req or is F12 broken?

Thanks inn advance for your help

After further investigating you could be missing gtk2
Code: Select all
su
yum install gtk2

I would like to try out the new autoten-4.5-2.fc12.noarch.rpm, but autoten-4.4-2.fc12.noarch.rpm is still installed on my system.

Should I remove the old release before installing the new one?
Can the new aoutoten manage the packages that are installed with the old release?
Any other sugestions before I destroy my system :) ?

Hi and Welcome :D

No you dont need to unistall the old autoten it will just upgrade the current autoten ;)

Dave,
Have been trying out the F12 LXDE on my PC. Had installed the "old" version of autoten and it did great getting my sound working. I just thought I would try the beta and it installed and nothing happens. I uninstalled it and re-tried and still nothing opens and no error??? I then tried the signing key to see if that was the problem and I get:
"[root@ericMicroAtx ~]# rpm --import http://dnmouse.org/RPM-GPG-KEY-dnmouse
error: http://dnmouse.org/RPM-GPG-KEY-dnmouse: import failed."

Thanks for your help.

Hi and Welcome :D

Thanks for trying the beta, dont worry about the key import error, what it means is you already have the key, this is the case when you try to import any key when you already have it.

Could you try starting the beta autoten from a terminal, that way it should give some sort of error if it doesnt start, and post back the results please.

Thanks Dave,
I am sorry to report I lost the LXDE install when I tried to install the F13 Live CD to dual boot. It worked til right after it had wiped the data
I could not stand it so I installed F13 Alpha from the DVD, it worked very well. You got an F13 up your sleeve? be glad to test it :D
I may try the LXDE on my other box, if so I shall try the Beta then.
